Do I need to wear my bib number?

Yes, your bib number is a requirement for you to be able race in the event and be on the course, which is closed to the public. If you do not have your bib number on, you could be pulled from the course by course marshalls or by the City of Pittsburgh Police. NOTE: Your bib number also contains your timing chip (its on the back of the bib number), so that is another reason for you to wear it. Please wear the bib number on your front versus your back and please do not crumble or damage the bib #.

will my bib have my name on it?

Yes, as long as you are registered prior to October 7th, 2010.

What are the finisher items for 2010?

Each "Finisher" of the event will receive a very large and very nice custom finisher medal along with a heavy glass drink / beer mug that say finisher along with the event logo.

What is the Energy Drink for the event?

Cytomax is the official energy drink for the Competitor Group events, which include the MedExpress Spirit of Pittsburgh Half Marathon & Two Person Relay. This will also be at the start / finish line as well as EAS myoplex energy drinks after the event.

will there be any kind of energy food / nutrition on the course?

Yes, there will be oranges at mile 8 and GU energy gels at mile 5. NOTE: There will be SMALL amounts ofemergency sweet and salty type food at the aid stations, BUT that is for athletes in significant need of sugars and / or salts. These items are things like Oreos, warm chicken broth, GU energy gels packets, candy and defizzed pop.

will there be portable restrooms on the course?

Yes, there will be a couple portable restroons located at miles 3, 6, 9, 12 and the relay exchange area (6.55 miles) on top of the portable restrooms at the start / finish line area.

Is this event Chip Timed?

Yes, all athletes will have a MyLaps Bib Timing chip on the back of their bib number.

Do I need to do anything with my timing chip?

NO, the timing chip is attached to the back of the bib number, which is where it should stay. DO NOT remove the timing chip or tamper with it in anyway. It is ready for prime time!

Is there ample parking at the start / finish line?

Yes, Southside Works is a retail mall type of facility and they have both garage and outside parking lots as well as on street parking in and around this area.

If I am the first participant on my relay team, how do I get back to the Finish Line?

Shuttles will be available at the relay exchange to take the first leg participants to the finish line to meet up with their teammate.

What If I am the second participant on my relay team, how do I get to the Exchange Area for the handoff?

Shuttles will be available at the start / finish line to take the second leg team members to the exchange to start their leg of the event. Shuttle will leave Southside Works at 7:00 a.m. for the relay exchange area. If you MISS your shuttle, it is your responsibility to get to the relay exchange area to meet up with your teammate.

What if I can't pick up my packet at the specified times and locations?

You may have another person pick up your packet, BUT that person MUST have their I.D. and a permission slip from you stating that you're authorizing them to pick up your packet for you. If you registered online, please make a copy of your confirmation from Active.com as that will be helpful.

Can I pick up my race packet on race day?

No, you will need to pick up your packet at Second Sole or the Marriott during specified times on the race info page on this website.

Will I be able to exchange my shirt if I ordered the wrong size?

Yes, but only after the race is complete and if we have the size you want left in our inventory. It is very important to give us the correct size to ensure you get the size you need.

What if my information listed in the pre-registration list is incorrect?

Please e-mail customerservice@runwildracing.com with your name and correct information and we will correct it before Packet Pick-Up.

If I am progressing in the race slower than 15:00 minutes per mile, will I be removed from the race course?

Yes, iIn order to close roads, ensure the safety of the participants, and inconvenience surrounding communities as little as possible, we must have a course time limit. Similar to other races across the country with time limits, you will be given a one mile cushion to recover and get back to the cut off or better. If you cannot recover, a race vehicle will pick you up and bring you to the finish line.
